A Diamond in the Roughage

This is one of the most amazing photoshoots that I have ever seen. The beauty and styling of the shoot is amazing, with foliage acting as garment and jewlery. Making me wonder, why do I even bother with clothes when I could just throw a palm leaf on my ass?

Real, Dyed, and Fake

Nick explores material culture and globalization by looking to the work of golden-age Dutch painters, who lived during the nascent of global trade. Flowers, tulips in particular, were symptomatic of new and overwhelming market forces. Aesthically, I love how painterly this photograph becomes due to the contrast of the dusty oranges fall outside and the artificial pinks of the still life.

Girl Boy/ Boy Girl

I mean, when is Anna Selezneva not hot? Comme Frere ou Soeur she can pretty much rock any look. This editorial might have been shot forever ago but it still has oomph.

Gaga as Editrix: Drawn this Way

Lady Gaga, always trying to change the world one sequin at a time. Very soon, she will be a columnist for V magazine (Hopefully her commentary will be more fashion/ fabulous driven rather than political. But that's me, I'm shallow). V mag held a contest for the best drawn representation of the queen herself, and here are my favorites from the submission.

This one has a little R Crumb thing going on

Digging the complex simplicity of this piece

I went to Michigan for a hot minute, so I've gotta represent

I feel like I'm looking through a heart shaped telescope right now
